Repository Policy

Jurnal Bangunan, Konstruksi & Desain (JBKD) supports the principles of open access and encourages authors to make their research widely available through institutional and subject-based repositories. The journal follows a liberal repository policy to facilitate the broad dissemination and accessibility of research.

Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit all versions of their manuscript in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, or on personal websites. JBKD allows self-archiving without any embargo periods, and the following versions of the manuscript may be archived:

  • Preprint Version: The version of the manuscript before peer review (i.e., the version originally submitted to JBKD).
  • Postprint Version: The final accepted manuscript after peer review but before the copyediting and formatting performed by the journal.
  • Published Version (Version of Record): The final, published PDF version as it appears in JBKD.

Permitted Use of Archived Versions

Authors may archive and distribute their manuscripts in repositories under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license, which governs the use and redistribution of published content. This means authors can freely share their work as long as:

  • Proper credit is given to the original publication in JBKD, including a full citation.
  • The work is not used for commercial purposes.

Repository Platforms

Authors are encouraged to deposit their manuscripts in reputable repositories, including:

  • Institutional Repositories: Managed by academic institutions to preserve and provide access to research outputs.
  • Subject-Specific Repositories: Platforms focused on particular fields or disciplines, such as arXiv or RePEc.
  • Personal and Academic Websites: Authors may also share their work on their personal or academic web pages.

Linking to Published Articles

When self-archiving the postprint or published version, authors are required to include a link to the official version of the article on the JBKD website. This ensures that readers can access the final version of the article with accurate metadata and formatting.

No Embargo Policy

JBKD does not impose any embargo periods on self-archiving. Authors are allowed to deposit and share their work in repositories at any time, including prior to and immediately after publication.

Compliance with Institutional Policies

This repository policy complies with most institutional open-access mandates. Authors are encouraged to adhere to the open access policies of their funding bodies and institutions by archiving their manuscripts in institutional repositories as required.

By allowing self-archiving across different versions of the manuscript and repository platforms, JBKD promotes the visibility and accessibility of research, supporting the principles of open access.
